Should be obvious. Right on the carburetor. Throttle rests against the tip of it at idle.

Whenever it's halfway convenient for you (tomorrow?) grab a trouble light or flashlight or something and get a good pic of the governor and carb linkages.

well since im usually the procrastinator, i figured id be a little diffrent today and went out with a flashlight, and tried to get some better pictures, there still terrible, because i dont have a camera, and rely on my ipod, but here they are, in the first, the governor is at idle, which it will not start. in the second, wide open, where it backfires, and in the third, its where it was with the stock linkage,

That's not the governor, that's the throttle. In order to sort this out, we need a clear pic of the governor arm (the big shiny metal arm with all the holes in it), the throttle arm on the carb (what the above pics show) and all the linkages and springs in between, including the hand throttle control (which is the lever you would move by hand to change speeds with the engine if you had it on, say, a snowblower).

Obviously, you've got a linkage/adjustment problem. We need to see the whole picture. You may need to roll it outside or plug in a big trouble light.

the hand throttle control and plate are off, only the governor arm, and the throttle on the carb remain, the only spring, is a spring atttached to the governor arm, to the recoil, to pull it to idle without the stock throttle arm and plate, and probablly have to pull out the big trouble light tommarow, to dark, and the snow is coming in pretty bad out here,and even tho its completely off topic, where are you getting the K&N, the Uni, the agk racing and all else stickers? ive only gotten one, from nr-racing, because i ordered my header from there.

Okay, well, this is a problem. The governor linkage assembly is all or nothing. Either return it completely to the stock configuration, or crack open the case, remove the internals, and connect the throttle directly. Half a linkage assembly will not work (as you have discovered). I believe I mentioned this before...

yeah, im going to have to find up and dig all the parts and hope its all back together, it seems like everytime i try to do something ive seen, i **** something up

we had a 2 HP mini bike(wich we still have just needs a new rear swing arm) that we were driving around at out local track with me on my pocket bike and all i heard was this loud bang, and i look over to see my brother stopped standing there. when i got over there, there was no spark plug int the engine cause it wasn't torqued down enough and hurt the threads on the engine. and sent the spark plug in the air. my brother was okay

i gotta find all the parts. slip out and i loose them and its like whered you go you little ****er, but yeah, i think everybody needs a kart, everybody should be issued, a go kart, and a paint ball gun
