im scared to start my honda clone, i took off the throttle arm and found it running WOT, and was backfiring out of the carb, i put it back together, and it looks like it did at stock, but im scared to start the engine, i fear it will blow up and explode in my face, how could i be sure the governor is in the right position?

pull the governor linkage FORWARD with your fingers.

Just stay calm and dont panick when you pannick thats when something bad will happen.. I use to be the same way but depending on the situation i mentaly prepare myself for it think of all possibilities that may happen. a box stock clone will not explode within 5 seconds of start up unless the rod bolts are like finger tight. Even if its full rev's

true. keep your finger pushing the linkage forward. once youstart it, slowly let go. if it speeds up more, then push forward more.

look- you're fine. Have a guy with his hand on the switch. If the engine tries to run away, just kill it immediately. Nothing is going to start and then rev to 10k and detonate in less than a second.

That means that the intake valve was still open while it was either igniting or poped open after ignition. whats your valve lash set at?

havent messed with valve lash, what happened was, the first throttle arm i took off and the spring had no tensoin on it, so the 2nd arm the has the rod stright into the governor had no tension so when i pulled the cord it stayed wide open, which is what i thought, which i thought was causing an overflow of gas into the carb and blowing it out the side of it, because i have a k&n air filter with the billet adaptor on the carb

theres not any tension on the spring to the throttle arm so it dosent pull the governor closed when i pull the cord so it backfires because theres to much gas in the carb,

Have you not redone that governor linkage, yet?
EDIT- What "cord"?
And whaddya mean, "pull the governor closed"? Nothing Pulls the governor closed. The governor does the pulling and pushing on the throttle.
