Hello all Gokart thrill seekers !

Any of you built a kart for drifting? Or have experience with electric setups?

This build is mainly about a small drift kart, that fits in the back of the my Subaru hatchback, small budget for a lot of Fun. Eventually add an Electric motor and 3 gears for multiple speeds.
The Kart originated from a Power wheels electric car, but has now turned into a Home made Kart frame with 10"x 5" Go kart racing tires and the option of having the Powerwheels Corvette body on top.

Disk Brakes added to the front using mountain bike Disk brakes.
Electric motor is currently undecided as well as battery.
Drive wheel will be a 5th 8" wheel mounted between the rear wheels and actuated with a lever to raise and lower to the ground.

looking for Help on enhancing the steering geometry. I need sharper steering but also need both wheels to match the angle of each other.

Frame material is Unistrut, because I had a lot of it

Rolls and steers, no motor yet,Currently Today without body

What an ambitious project. I had never heard of Unistrut before but it appears to make a nice looking frame. I like the Corvette body too--looks like a perfect match.

The area that will most directly effect how tight your kart turns as well as the cheapest fix, would be the steering arm on the spindle. By modifying the length and position of these arms, you can adjust how much rotation the spindle will see given a set distance that the tie rod, steering rack or pitman arm travels. Also, make sure you don't have steering stops on your steering wheel shaft that are limiting your turning radius.

You could also have tire scrub on your frame (tires touching the frame before you hit "full lock").
