First- Welcome to the forum. Second, there's an entire forum subcategory dedicated to using tools and welding entitled, "Using Tools And Welding". Third, the safest way to weld is probably not covered in gasoline and standing barefoot in a puddle of water.

If you need more than that, I would encourage you to first search the forum, and if that doesn't do it for you, give us a bit more detail on the crux of your question.

Meanwhile, I will be moving this thread over to- you guessed it- "Using Tools And Welding".

:welcome2: to the forum!!! As for your question, we need more details; with the broad base of different backgrounds that the members of this forum have, we can make a serious dent in a great many welding questions/concerns/issues, etc. We have members starting out with the most basic Flux core only type welders to members who earn a living doing high grade Tig welding for racing/ high performance applications.

One other good thing; if we can't answer your questions perfectly, we have a really good idea of who to refer you to.

Now, what exactly is your area of interest? What is safe for one type of welding may kill you using a different process......

:welcome2::cheers2::thumbsup::popcorn:

I like to weld naked in the winter so I can keep my tan.

On a related note, wear all of your safety gear, don't stand in water, make sure you have a well ventilated area, and don't put your head into the toxic fumes coming off of your weld.

Don't complete the circuit through yourself, i did that once... it felt kind of cathartic though.

Gloves and skin impeded most of the amps anyway. I accidentally stuck my tungsten to the filler rod, then jerked it out, it went though the rod that touched the metal and my arm :)

At least you didn't lose your two's; a former coworker who tangled with a 480V 3PH circuit scared the :censored: out of his supervisor after they managed to cut the power. When asked to count to ten, he went "1,3,4,5,6.....". They asked him to start over...."1,3,4,5,6....." Mikey, what about the #2?.?.? "Ahhhh?!?! I've lost my 2's!!!!!!"

True story; I've worked with a couple of guys who were there when it happened.....:ack2::smiley_omg:
