Rusty Fuel Tank

Hi all,

I have a go kart with a rusty tank. It is leaking. I can't seem to find a replacement part anywhere. Anyone have any good suggestions for finding one? Thanks in advance.

I'll try to attach pics and manual I found online.

The engine is a:
Robin Subauru 6.5 hp
engine family-2fjxs.1691ga
prod. no. ex170d500105467
Air-Cooled, 4-Cycle, Slant Single-Cylinder,
Horizontal P.T.O. Shaft, OHC Gasoline Engine

Well if u want the stock gas tank that sits on top of the engine, ur best bet would be ebay. Subaru engines arent too popular at least in the go kart world. Now if u want to put the tank elsewhere on the cart, any tank will do. Just remember u will need a fuel pump if u go that route

That depends on the height of the tank in relation to the engine

I had the same issue. I used muriatic acid and JB weld. Problem was solved

They sell 6.5hp Robin/Subaru engines for the junior Trophykart racing class. They're brand new engines are sold without the stock fuel tanks because trophykarts use a different style of racing fuel tank. They probably have a big stack of brand new Robin/Subaru fuel tanks they'd sell cheap...

Thanks for all the great info! I emailed Trophykart and will see what they have (i called but it went to voicemail). I don't know how to weld, but I think I'll take that up pretty soon. If I can't find the tank i'll try the suggestion of buying a generic tank and hooking up with a fuel pump. Thanks!

Is it the same as a Predator tank? I have one I may or may not use.
