This is one of 4 rusty ole rupps i picked up a while ago.
I took a break from all the other junk to slap together this one rusty red rupp.

Anyway the snowblower hs50 i wanna use too replace the oe hs40 has the dipstick mount/hole cast into the cover and dont let the front tc cover mount bracket sit flush like the oe block does.

How did any of you all overcome this.
Im thinking longer bolts and spacers?

about those engines to know the swap ability of Parts, but is there any chance the side cover from the 40 will fit onto the 50?

Good question i really dont know if it the side cover would fit being these two engines are decades apart.

Im not really into opening this one up but if i can find a gasket and oil seal locally i will try it.

The oe hs 40 your seeing is staying togeter till i accumulated all the parts for a rebuild and going back on the bike.

I have another rupp hs 40 with the famous blown rod for parts.

I just wanted too check if anyone had another way around fitting this bracket.

Just figured i would update and say,
Two longer bolts.
1 1/4" long spacer for the top bolt
And a 3/8" spacer for the bottom bolt.
And the bracket fits on great now and clears the oil dipstick tube
This did make the cover stick out a bit more, its hardly noticeable though.

Heres the lil' rusty red rupp and my rusty ole red super bronc.

These two will keep their patina.
