there was a thing on doing that in a science book I had once, it was how to a make a hand grenade thing that used hydrogen. in the directions it said to hold it in your hand and ignite it with your eyes closed so you wouldn't get shrapnel in your eyes.

ya what's the fun in blowing stuff up if you can't see it? lol. it also said to get the carbon rods for it by pulling apart batteries.
