Roughing it in the Outback

OK-By now you should have known this wasn't going to be as advertised. ....

What this is about is camping in the backyard. I saw a tent in a neighbor's back yard the other day. The overnight lows were in the low 70's (f) so I had to wonder if it was occupied overnight or just a "test run".
Anyway-maybe this was a copy-cat crime-more to follow. .....
I have spent quite a few nights in the tent in the backyard-(copy-cat?-....I invented this. ...here comes this newbie. ....)
Anyway (again)-Seriously, I do pitch a tent and sleep outside often when the weather permits.Don't knock it until you try it. Even with the city noise, I just sleep better and ......IDK- it re-energizes me.So you outdoor inclined folks especially and even those not-give this a try. ....you might be glad you did.
SO-HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE DO THIS? ????

I tried camping once, wasn't impressed (where do I plug in my phone charger?).

I guess I've been spoilt by creature comforts & technology, not to mention a heated waterbed...

Partly as a young guy and partly because I don't care

If I ever go to a house party I take my swag and sleep the night in that rather than try to find a couch

Most of my friends do it

For those who don't know a swag is like a large canvas sleeping bag with a thin foam mattress

The lions can also be a nuisance sometimes.

I would never sleep in MY backyard without that impenetrable shell of protection that a tent provides. LOL.
I was adopted by a large male cat a while back. For some reason, he doesn't like being inside a tent-but it doesn't stop him from bothering me when I am.
And then there is my herd of over fed spoiled oppossums........

I was joking about the lions. The myth that there are lions around every corner here in darkest Africa isn't true. LOL

Crime however is reasonably high, and not just plain old crime, but violent crime. As long as you don't do anything stupid you are generally OK. It is the same in most countries probably.

We had a generator at camp in the Canadian "bush".
Getting out away from people, in the bush is a good thing.
I love it. Sittin around the campfire enjoyin company of relatives and whatnot. Good times!

You're getting closer-in the backyard you just need an extension cord and you can run into the house if the oppossums get restless.

I'll take that as a compliment-my intention is entertainment.I do smoke-Santa Fe little cigars@$1.85 US per pack-can't afford real cigs-@$7.00 US.I don't even know what that other tobacco costs these days-I probably wouldn't turn it down-but not even a factor in my posts.My intention is to be a little bit different-and hopefully make people not only laugh, but think.
