Great photos! Super clean cart. I have what appears to be a two piece brake rod. The gas pedal side on mine is not correct. Is yours as it was new or does it look modified?

Those look like 6" AZUSA Tri-Stars. I have a set of those for my first Rocket. My most recent has 6" white wheels in the rear and 5" white wheels in front. The fronts each have a stack of six large washers on the inside ... initially I thought they were junk (modern hand truck wheels) added later, after further review and plus the size differences makes me think they came stock. I will know for sure when I disassemble.

I read something somewhere about moving one or more washer from one side to the other to improve handling or steering.

Here’s my vote for keeping it (the subject of this thread) original or as original as can be, be it a “full restore” or a “rustore“ or keeping as much of the present condition and originality intact. You’ve got what I would call 70% paint remaining….

Get with troc and get the dead axle specs from him and a seat pattern as well.

Then go buy a Manco live axle American Express (maybe not, they are sought after lol) or some other kart to mod. Something you and grandson can enjoy together with all the bells, whistles, mirrors, lights, fwd-N-rev, full cage, key start. Get two karts, one for you, one for him

Very original throughout ... the throttle setup is rigged up. Brake rod appears to be two piece. Guard near the dead axel is EPIC!

White wheels all around 6" rear and 5" front.

The washers up front crack me up although I understand the concept!
