robin ey 20

i recently got a free robin ey20 and it ran good until i removed the governor now it leaks oil and won't start no matter how hard i try to get it to work and I'm wondering if anyone has any information on this motor all i know is is a subaru clone and thats all i know about it.

where is it leaking?

have you plugged the hole?
have you tightened the crank case bolts to specs?
in correct order?
used a fresh gasket?

what else have you done? (adjusting carb, removing/reattaching the head... etc!)
did the camshaft moved while you opened the case...?
have you reinstalled it correctly (lined up the dots!!)?

if you are unsure you MUST reopen the case and check, this is important.

its leaking out the side of the block i put gasket maker one it when i put it back on and i plugged the hole from the governor but i didn't know there was an order for the bolts i jut went around it and tightened it to 10 foot pounds. but I've had the head off and switched springs but i reused old gasket and it hasn't leaked there yet and I'm pretty sure the dots are lined up ill open it up and check everything out and put new gasket on and put it all back together and then ill report if it worked or new arising problems. and thanks for the manual that will be a big help in the future

I'd replace that gasket with an official replacement. I would also make sure the timing is on. Search for the thread called "Predator won't fire" and read through it. A lot of it should apply. Besides that make sure your valve lash and rockers are on the springs and the timing is correct.

Fresh oil, New spark plug and is the fuel being delivered. Also might want to test compression.

well ill probably use the gasket maker for now and if it works ill change it to the official replacement i just have a hard time buying all new stuff when i can make due with the old stuff but the oil and spark plug i keep extras on hand so its not a big deal but if anything too much fuel is in the carburetor because it leaks out the carburetor into the air filter

Might want to clean it and make sure the float isn't sticking.

well everything should be bolted evenly all around;
that includes the crank case cover (leaking) and the head (not firing)
undo all bolts but do not remove them, then tighten them down evenly, finger tight, half way to specs, then fully torqued.
Always in a star pattern
(some manufacturers even have special orders in their shop manuals)

But a star pattern will work nearly all the time
