Remote starting can save wrist.....
Had the kickback problem really bad with my last 212 hemi (minibike), truly believe a scientific break-in period using Royal Purple Break-in Oil contributed to an extremely tight engine with great compression. Doing it that way again now, but a kart this time, and it's going to have remote starting that you might want to consider for yourself.
Using round bar like a brake setup usually does, small bearings, couple of pulleys, and some 1/16" braided steel cable with clamps I'll have a setup that will pull the entire starter cord length with a short stroke of either pushing a pedal (probably going with that idea) or pulling back on a lever, all from the driver's seat.
Do it right and a kickback won't be able to hurt you, you'll likely get it started with less "pulls", certainly less effort, and if it quits on you anywhere you won't have to get out to restart it.
You could always just install electric start, but a budget like mine wants to stay below that cost.
