I was flying down my hill practicing (and mastering) a full 360 and keep going. Someone half way down had put in a new sewer and there was sand and gravel in the road. It was so perfect I couldn't stop myself! But I figure I'm pushing my luck so I take it to the house. I go in and no more than come back out and see the popo rollin' slow. He saw my kart in the drive, stopped and backed up quick. He sees me and says, "I should have known it was you."(we had an incident before, long story, makes me look stupid but funny)

He says he didn't care but there was a complaint so he had to follow up. All week I was eyeing up neighbors to see who blew me in. Turns out it was my neighbor's renter. My neighbor hates cops so he came and apologized on her behalf. To make it up to me offered me a chipper shredder with a 7hp Briggs on it. I wouldn't take it. So, he asked me to weld something for him and paid with the shredder.

We have become great friends because of the incident.

I dug this up from an old, closed thread about being caught by the cops. Sadly, I lost this great neighbor and friend this week. Was just reflecting on how a go-kart made us friends for the rest of his life. He is dearly missed...

Sorry to hear this, Dennis. Words can never reflect true sorrow or heart ache..... But, man to man, I offer you a hug, with your back to everyone else, so they don't see your eyes "sweat"....
It's funny, how someone can be a pita, then turn out to be your best friend. And what REALLY sucks is, we never really realize how great a friend they really where, till its too late.
Everyone on here (pretty much) knows I don't drink alcohol or beer. BUT there is one day a year, I get a little hammered, in memory of a long lost but not forgotten pal. As teenagers, we'd sit and drink at a certain spot, on the weekends. Some of my fondest memories. And that is where I go, in remembrance of our friendship. (I get dropped off, then picked back up. I go alone. I swear I hear his laugh........ )
May peace be with you, buddy...... :cheers2:

Loosing a friend is just like loosing a family member.

Sincere condolences.
Keep him in your heart.

Thanks guys.

To be clear, he wasn't a pita, the renter in his garage apartment was. Ironically, she is now in hospice care too.

The funny thing concerning my neighbor who passed away, I'm not actually sad. He and I had many a long and deep conversation on the subject and never have I met a man more ready to go than he was. He had his house in order and his soul right where it counts. It's just, I'm gonna miss not being able to have those convos anymore.

Sorry for the loss of your friend I know how you feel first hand.
Savor your friends because they can check out anytime as can ourselves.
