If anyone is interested, I wanted to mount skinny 3 rib tires on the front of my 69 cub cadet 106.

The rims are 8in diameter, 6.5 in width, so I cut them down to 4in for the 4.00x8 ribs

After 3 cut off wheels, much welding and grinding, I think I got it

I intend to use the 8in cutouts to widen a 4 lug rim, to mount balloons and put on the back of my new kart

Awesome!! Looks good to me!

The tires look great, but the k241 is hurting

It's a mosquito fogger, and oil seeps from the head bolts when running

When I pulled the head off, I broke a bolt off in the block. Then broke a t30 s2 bit in it trying to get it out. Nothing would drill through the s2, so I found some tiny carbide burrs for the dremel that punched through.

Anyway a valve is sticking, and the bore is very sloppy , so its getting a much needed rebuild

edit- good ol k series , heavy gal

a predator 212 weighs 37lbs?

As much as I want to put the twin in, it is alot of work, the frame needs cut in half, modified, and trimmed to make it work, and the hood wont fit. This tractor is really not in bad shape, so I am going to restore it ,paint it, and take to local shows, and general viewing.

And direct shaft drive , changing gearing is not easy.

With a weight of 620lbs, it is a substantial piece of iron to be moving fast.

It is really best suited for pulling, as every tractor at the garden tractor pulls is a old cub, or a cub repainted/ different hood to look like something else.

The drivetrain and tractor itself was so overbuilt, it ruined the market (never needed to buy another) and international cub cadet got bought out by mtd and the rest is downhill

But anyway, the steering wheels always get stuck on these, I came up with using a flywheel puller to get it off without damaging it. A cap goes over it, so you wont see the tapped holes

I am not looking forward to getting the pto clutch off, every one Ive encountered has been a pita.

At least I got the head bolt re threaded, and the +.010 piston and rings are in.
