Riding mower as go kart

i got me a 18.5 hp opposed twin Briggs riding mower with no deck to use as a go kart...i changed the back pulley from a 10" to a 2" so i go fast...now the only problem is hooking up a gas pedal ive been at it for hours...any help ????

That's the least of your worries. By switching all the way down to a 2" tranny input pulley, you've opened a can of worms you need to deal with. The factory brakes won't be able to deal with speeds like that, nor will the steering. You may well have some problems with the belt slipping and smoking because of poor contact on a pulley that size.

ive tried to youtube it but no one has done a pedal on a 18.5hp opposed twin...i dont have to pulley on it yet i need a belt so i put everything stock back on...now i need a gas pedal

Check out racing mowers. LOTS of people have built gas pedals... Doesn't have to be specific to an Oppy!

However- Stay tuned. I have started a racing mower build ( I have GOT to get off my butt and start a thread!), and will be using an 18hp Briggs Oppy! I have not yet decided between hand and foot throttle, but if I DO go with a pedal, I will build my own.
