Ride on cooler

I posted this originally in December, it it got washed away with all of the other posts from the twelfth month. I figured I would share it with the people who weren't able to see it.

So this is a cooler that I built for my friend. It was his idea so I got to spend his money!! Anyway, I made it out of a Razer E300 electric scooter that I got for free from another friend. I used all of the guts except the batteries which were fried (thats why I got it for free). Uses a 5/8inch axle and some harbor freight 10inch 5 dollar tires. The triple trees in the front are from a pocket bike that I got at the flee market for ten dollars. The brakes where a last minuet idea, he didn't want to spend the 30 dollars or so that a pair of disk brakes would have cost, so I put on some scrub brakes that work well. For what it is it scoots along at a pretty good clip, probably around 10-12 mph. Its scary turning at speed though because the back inside tire comes up if you lean a little.

I remember seeing this. It is a really nice build. Well done. It looks like your right scrub brake touches the wheel a bit more than the left. If you want a little more stopping power you can always adjust it a bit.

Yeah, I noticed that, its because the handle that you pull on is on the right side. The pads actually are perfectly lined up, there is just a little bit of flex in the bar that runs across.

Thanks!! I want to build another one!! I had given it to the friend that I built it for, he rode it home about a mile, and then he never bought the charger I told him he needed, so he let it sit in his garage and then outside for a little while of a period of 6 months. He gave it back because his mom didn't want it taking up space at there house anymore. When he gave it back to me it, the frame had rust on it, the deck was covered with leaves and dirt, the charging port had weird blue stuff in it, and the batteries were shot. So I took it all apart, painted everything AGAIN, then put it back together. Looks kinda puuurtty if you ask me. The batteries are still toast so I can't really enjoy much. Might get new batteries in the future. I kinda looking for a friend at school to sell it to. I was thinking something like $120? Sound reasonable?
