Reverse cable question.

I have just aquired a Tomberlin 150r Crossfire. GY6 Howit engine. The reverse cable is damaged, it measures 50 inches in length. I am in the process of replacing it. All the advertised cable replacement are 62 inches long. What am I missing, where does the extra 12 inches go ?

You can reroute it or cut and solder the end back on.

E bay or a crimp on the end of the cable. Have used an electrical splice or connector for stranded wire.
