I have purchased a couple of live axle karts with BS engines. They need wheels and tires, brakes and linkages. I have time now to get them going, which is half the fun.

Welcome there old timer!!! Heck, we’re mostly old timers here. Fix up those karts with the grand kids. It’ll be the best time you spend with them.

Had one running but I sold it when I found another with a dropped front axle. And I have a Dingo that needs wheels, tires and brakes. The one I sold had a straight front axle and about 4" of front end ground clearance. It had a single steering linkage bar held on with push caps. I drilled and put cotter pins on everything before I sold it. It has a nice OHV Tecumseh tho. This photo is from about 1988. My daughter on her favorite toy. It had a Honda 70 carb on it and a leaf blower fuel tank on a home made mount gravity feeding the carb.

Sounds like it was a dealer promo kart (with a fiberglass body big enough for logos and advertising). Those were typically built with light duty parts because they were not designed for hard use like normal fun karts.
