Replacing Chinese 110cc engine & gear box

I have discovered the problem with my shifting in my 110cc Chinese gokart is related to the forks in the gear box. It appears to be such a task to take the whole engine out of the gokart and then take apart to go inside and replace the forks. So, my question is this, would it be better to just get a new 110 cc chinese go kart engine AND....will a 125 cc chinese go kart engine (HONDA) be the same fit?

Im going to say yes... but there are alot of variation of the china motors out there....with/without electric start, kick or not, starter on top or bottom... there are probably a few others... thats off hand what I could think up of....

A definite side by side of the two will have to be seen to get the best comparison.
