My buddy and I just built a couple of Manco Dingos with 212 predators and Chinese knock off versions of the Comet 30/TAV2 torque converters. Needles to say the belts were junk. One lasted for a couple weeks and one shredded in about 10 minutes.

From what I've read, the general consensus seems to be that a genuine Comet replacement belt is the way to go. HOWEVER I found some belts on eBay that are Kevlar and claim to be really durable. There are several different brands of the Kevlar replacements, ranging from about $15-$30 with an OEM Comet being right at $30. We just want to buy what will last the longest.

Both Dingos are the smaller 285/286 versions that didn't come with jackshafts. Both karts have predator 212 hemi's with headers, jetted carbs, timing advanced and high flow air filters. Both are running 18" knobby tires, knock off Comet 30's. The kart we've been riding (because we finished it first) has a 48T sprocket on the axle and 10T sprocket on the TC, with 420 chain. The other kart has a 54T sprocket and everything else is the same, but we haven't tried it yet.

Actually the reason why is that the driver clutch flew apart so we had to use the new one from my Kart and haven't tried it out yet. We not recommend using a longer bolt than the one in the kit. Ours stripped out and pieces blew everywhere.
