Removing governer but its stuck

i know this is a pretty nooby question but the plastic gear is hard to get out, and i cant break the ring keeping it in. How did you guys get it out?????

yeah it is but i got the lever thing thats attached to the throttle control out and im just trying to get the plastic gear out but i cant seem to pull it out by force or break the clip.

or you could use vise grips and a rag on the pto, so the teeth don't leave a mark.

I will add that is it VERY important to torque the flywheel with a torque wrench. If not properly torqued down it can eat the key and damage the threads.

Last time i took my flywheel off (yesterday) i put multi grips on my clutch. Not on the drum but on the main tubing thing. Works well, u dont have to worry about a rag as it doesnt matter if u get teeth marks on ur clutch. I didnt clamp it that hard that it left any anyway.
