First time poster here, hope this is in the correct forum.

I'm trying to customize my mud motor that uses a honda gx200 electric start clone. The problem with a mud motor is that when you start it you need to basically have three hands. One to hold the handle down (or strap it down), one to turn the key, one to control the choke. It can be a complicated process in the dark and in freezing temps.

To make matters worse, strapping down the handle becomes dangerous. The prop is out of the water and with no clutch, it spins constantly. I don't have full control of it while trying to release the strap...it's like having a very long, WOT chainsaw you can't control in a boat that's adrift.

It would be really nice if I could have remote push button start on the handle next to the emergency kill switch. I was considering molding my own handle mounted console with carbon fiber just for this. My problem is, I have no idea where to find the parts to do it (if it can be done at all). Any help would be appreciated.

ok. heres what id suggest. Make a tiller arm. and on the arm youll have 3 things. throttle, choke, and starer button. youll still have the key switch. but it would only act as a kill and run mode.

Right now I have a homemade tiller arm. It's 1" schedule 80 aluminum with a Kuryakan Motorcycle grip on the end and a vintage Harley clutch lever for my throttle. I planned on just having the emergency kill switch and start button as gloves are bulky and didn't want the choke getting bumped around.

Know where I can get a remote start button?
