Two words... "Linear actuator". Hydraulics- big, heavy, complex. Pneumatics, lighter, faster, but- either you need the bulk and weight of an onboard air compressor, or an air storage tank, and heaven help you if the tank runs out of air... loss of control at speed= bad.
