this is gonna be an awesome kart.. the engines sit down nice and it has that 60’s rake with the big back tires.TV is evilEver since snowfall ended on FX I’ve been able to get away from the tv and back onto my projects...

Carbon build up between the rings and piston will stick rings. The rings were stuck wtf??
just tore it down cleaned it thoroughly through a new set of rings in it and cleaned up the bore. It’s all reassembled I’m gonna test it soon. It rolls over freely and has tons of compression the bore honestly cleaned up very well. I’m hopeful this will run just fine again.Carbon build up between the rings and piston will stick rings.
This is the reason I hate to see an overly rich running engine.
Burnt gases will pass thur the side clearance and back clearance of the rings. Too rich, causes carbon build up here, tightening these clearances, sticking rings.
Not saying you are rich, jus something that'll help your future builds.
Check the ring side clearance, top to bottom with ring on piston, you need .001"- .002".
Back clearance, measure how deep the groove is, and how thick, side to side, your rings are.
Subtract thickness from depth, .004"-.006" is good for daily runners, mild hot rods, good reliable builds that don't run overly rich on the fuel.
Seafoam is good for keeping carbon build up down.
It's not a "MIRACLE IN A CAN" and won't clean heavy carbon build up on old worn out, oil burning engines, but will keep build up down in a clean combustion chamber.

This engine fired right up and ran and sounded better at idle then it ever has before. I just heard both engines run on the gokart. now back onto this test ride. of course after a killswitch for both engines.
You must trust parts suppliers more then I do.
If I skip a measurement, it'll usually bite me in the a$$ later down the road.
New pistons and rings are fairly good about the side and back clearances.
It's the piston to cylinder and ring end gaps that are usually out of spec.
But can't do much about a bad sleeve.
New engine is cheaper then an overbore or new sleeve installed.
Near pittsburgh real cool air. I’ve been out riding and testing the karts a monster.I love the pics and progress updates. it's helpful to me also.
cool air? where are you? I'm in Louisiana and I can burst I to flames at midnight with this heat
