Recoil cup Predator 212cc Engine.

I'm finishing up a Predator 212cc build from lots of spare parts I have laying around. The recoil cup I have is 1.5" deep, and it's not deep enough to engage the the recoil assembly. I know they make deeper ones, does anyone know the part number for the deeper cup, or the one I probably need? The diameter is good, it's the depth that's the issue.

I wonder if your starter cup mismatch is due to the two (or three!) 212 Predators and their differences.

That’s what I’m thinking, I have a 224cc motor I pulled the cup and recoil and motor side cover off it temporarily just to start the 212cc I just finished putting together today. I’ve never run into this problem before, so I was lost. The motor recoil cover on the 224cc is also a little deeper to, but it worked. I guess I could just buy the 224 motor side cover, recoil and cup to be sure it’s all going to fit together right and work. I did quickly measure the cup from the 224 if I remember correctly, it was close to 2” deep. Just looked it up, the motor side cover is called “Recoil fan cover shroud”.

Hopefully it all goes together for you with out to much headache. Once you do figure out witch combination works. Get a marker or figure out some way to readily identify what is what. Also you can fix the recoil sometimes instead of swapping out parts that are not original to the engine. Personally once you start putting two different engines together to make one you end up with two different out comes. One you like and one that is close but just not right.

It has to be identical to the original, but I don't know the part no.
