My bad OP. I had a re-read of your thread, I found out you did indeed list what the motor was from.

So what do you have so far from the bike, besides the motor?
(Im assuming you DO have the motor..right, or is this all just hypothetical?)

I'm building the same thing. Everything I'm doing is custom. Steering frame everything.

I've got a Suzuki 750cc engine

I'm using a 1 1/4" (1/4") kart axle.

The steering I made from checking out lawn mower racing forums. Since these are solid frames with no suspension you want the from end so have 8-12 degrees of caster and 12 degrees of camber. (The caster makes it so the inside rear tire will lift slightly and break traction to that tire so it doesn't push you through the turn.) It gives you great control. I have made all my steering parts.

Are you going to add more on to support the front and rear wheels? I'd be very concerned if the pictures were the finished product. No offense, but the design itself looks questionable, and the welds even more so.

You would want to reinforce the rear end and completely redo the steering. The spindles and steering are not made for the added weight and speed of those engine. That's why I did away with the original frame and made my own out of 1.25" (3/16 wall) square tubing.

Perhaps someone more experienced than myself such as Fabroman can chime in, but I believe I'm seeing a very concerning lack of penetration.

i say to each their own on the welds, if somebody's done it, proud of it, and trusts it, go for it, as far as giving advice and trying to help out i have no problem doing so, but only if the person is asking for it, the build still looks more of tacked together in most places, and i'm sure that more welding will be done before completion

It's difficult to tell until the welds are cleaned but, you don't know if this is the finished product or not; a tack weld is considered to be "any weld run under 1" in length" & is only there to hold the pieces together, more weldws may be added later...

Now, as for that steering, you have camber & caster built in but, I don't see much ackermann; there's a little but, not quite enough from what I can see...

as far as giving advice and trying to help out i have no problem doing so, but only if the person is asking for it

In no way am I suggesting that this is the case here but, sometimes, some people don't realise they need help...that's how constructive criticism works...

Like fabroman says. A lot is tacked together. And the Akermann is just about right for the length of the chassis.

And penetration is just shy of burning through 3/16 steel. So penetration is sufficient.

They may or may not be. I have based the steering geometry off of super mod racing lawn mowers. So as far as "wrong" angles. I am happy with them since they use them in racing might as well use them in mine.
Wasn't meant to sound snippy.
