the car is quality for sure, the problem is rc stuff drops in value incredibly fast, cars especially more than planes, boats, or heli's... usually 50% the second you take it out of the box, and they come out with new stuff so fast after a year or 2 any value is pretty much gone.. i have 5 or 6 models that were worth hundreds used only a few years ago that have depreciated so much it's not even worth my time to try to sell them... my advice is to enjoy it for a couple weeks then sell it before you lose on the investment

In the last few months I've had .........decided to get back in it lately. But I can tell you they are all gone again !

HPI bullet 3.0 ST
Associated prolite 4x4 with a bunch of upgrades.
Losi 1/8 truggy that I converted from nitro to brushless

That being said in my area yours would fetch about $400 like it sits. The controller, ESC, batteries, motor are your high dollar items that everybody wants around here cause a lot of people are switching to electric. 1/8 scale short course trucks are not really a highly sought after class. But in California they should be as you guys do a lot more outdoor offroad stuff.

That an a gallon of nitro is 40$ and you go though about a coke bottle sized amount in 30 to 45 min of playing and they always break like two strokes .Does painting it change the value ? I put truck bed liner on the bottom of the rc car to stop it from wearing out and protect the bottom of the rc car and i painted the role cage blue not silver ?

i know the only thing in rc around here that holds its value is the rc airboat. i have well over $500 in this one and probably sale it for about $600. no one makes them but every one wants them. i do have to say the supertiger .26 engine never game me any big problems but it is technically a new engine with new jug and piston instold. the nitro fuel for a gal is only $20 not to bad when i can run with one tank for about 30 min but if i run dry it will go in like 8 min. so i try to keep it in the water.

Then again its florida lol only thing around is dirt and water and more water lol so a rc car or plane or heli wont be a very good idea .

So the Team Associated brand is very reputable they made the first 2 RC vehicles I ever owned, my first was the RC10B gold chasis and the second was the RC10GT both great vehicles. I still own 2 Associated vehicles, they are the RC18MT (minis). I got out of electric back in the late 90's and went with Nitro. Recently I picked up an Axial EXO roller and as was previously stated the motor and ESC cost me as much as the roller did. I can't say for sure if you got a good trade or not, I have stayed away from the Short course stuff for the most part. What you have though is the Castle creations Mamba Monster ESC (electronic speed controller and their motor. From the picture it looks like you have an Airtronics transmitter so in theory you should have an Airtronics receiver. I am not sure if you have the original Mamba Monster or the Mamba Monster 2. Here is a link to the Castle website to help you along.

Read this before you do anything, you can burn your house down or get injured.

Those batteries are no joke when charging.

I haven't read the article but I forgot LIPOS don't play go to youtube and search LIPO explosion. You need a container to charge them in case they explode, LIPOS have come a long way from the early days of them but they are still volatile. If they start swelling at any time you need to throw them out and get another set, luckily they have come way down in price from the early days of them. If used and maintained properly not abused or a case of stupidity you should be fine, don't over charge them or let them run all the way down. The first one causes the fire the second one makes the pack un-chargeable, your ESC should have a LIPO setting on it to keep it from draining the pack completely. Always make sure to unplug the battery from the ESC when done playing.

Could you post some better pics of the chargers you got so I can look into them. You will also need to know what cell count the batteries are they should range between 1S -6S get a couple pics of the batteries to along with the connector where the battery plugs into the ESC.

I have the advanced charge system for my lipo batteries that stops them from over charging it charges them at what ever setting i set it to how ever many mah usually the first setting at 5000 mah and then when its done they beep really loud and trickle charge to keep it even.
Nope Its the Mamba monster 1 Is it true everyone is switching to electric because nitro is costing everyone to much ?Yes the controller is aironotics 75mhz controller (it is 10 years old ) but you can always switch controllers at any time

I second what ML-TOYS is saying.

A single 2200 3s has more than enough power to put my 54" span plane a mile in the air. You don't want that much energy exploding in your face. Or your house.

Ok so did you read it or do you know everything because the charger you have

I read the parts about lipos being dangerous because they explode when over charged ok well they dont explode they leak toxic gases that catch fire .Then went back and re read it all just to make sure i didnt miss anything but after reading it im charging them at less then a amp it takes longer but prolongs the battery life 5000 mah at 7.8 volts .My batteries where not un attended when i was charging and made sure they never got hot when being charged.

RC is like anyother hobby, you can spend a couple hundred and have fun, or you can spend a couple thousand and be almost competitive...

Advanced charger or not. Always use a lipo charging bag ! Its $12 that will save you if it ever happens. A guy here had the best charger you could get and his shorted out in the battery and took his house with it. And if the battery starts to get a bubble shape anywhere ditch it and get a new immediately.
