a long, long, long time ago i got a electric powered razor dirt bike, and after about 5 years of beating on it i decided to strip the frame and convert it to gas.
i always wanted a gas pit bike/ dirt bike, but i never had enough money to buy one. so instead finally at the age of 14 i got some old weedeaters for free, didnt have enough power so i got a chainsaw for free also, but i smoked the clutch because the gear ratio was too high.
then i bought a used 43cc scooter motor... for $80 and it didn't run at that time. i rebuilt the motor, polished the piston, got new rings, cleaned the carb, got new gaskets, and finally i got some brackets, nuts and bolts, and i was able to ride.
the gear ratio is now too low, but whatever its good for towing.
it took forever and lots of attempts and roadblocks, and finally it worked. its so much fun to ride, and i rode it so much that i wore out those little aluminum brackets. in a couple weeks i start my first welding class. i plan to weld better mounts for the engine. overall, i amazed a lot of people that i was able to pull off making a working "dirt bike" with aluminim, nuts and bolts. no welding at all on the mounts.
