I just bought a new manco 2 seater go kart. On the first day we took it out I was sliding around the back end and the chain fell off we moved the engine so it was closer to the sprocket so we could get the chain back on. After that we moved the engine back forward to tighten the chain. when we received the go kart the alignment was off slightly but it might have been because the chain spaces were wider than the sprocket teeth. but when i realigned the engine i made the two sprockets line up perfect and it rattles. I think if I take it back to where i got it he will fix it. but what should i do for now.

i think its the clutch we tried tightening it by having a wrench on the end and pulling the cord but no results all i know is that its most likely the clutch

i cant tell where the rattling is it might be the clutch or where the chain is touching the clutch and i dont know how much play because its not at my house right now . I sent it back im thinking it had to do with play or engine placement but i sent it to get a new sprocket and hopefully it will be gone(the rattling)

3in 1 a little lite of an oil for your clutch bearing, its better than nothing, but a heaverier oil will give better results.

I like to use 90wt gear oil, I remove the clutch about once a week, blow it out real well with compressed air , lube up the bushing, and reassemble, after you do it couple times it only takes 10 min. and the clutch allways works better afterwards.
with one wheel drive I take the wheel and clutch off at the same time so I dont have to take the chain apart.

My kart get's over 15 miles a week on it, The wife use's it like a car around the neighborhood.
