Start your own build thread instead of hijacking this one...

EASY.....He only mentioned a similar build....I don't see a hijack here..?

Now...let's do this right: "Cool man! We would love to see yours as well. Start a build thread or post pics in your gallery..(we like pics!!!!)"

EDIT: OH....and welcome to the forum and please fill out your profile location.....(and we can talk about Big Daddy on Your thread)....

Looking real good! Got my parts vehicle yesterday. Kawasaki 250 Mojave 4 wheeler, water cooled, 5 speed w/reverse, front and rear disc brakes, and a home built gocart frame which should be perfect for the build! Same as yours, going to be front engine chain drive w/ a straight axle, paralell spring. Needing to find some bike tires for the front. Only really going to be a parking lot cruiser for the car shows, more show than go, no off roaring or nothing. I'm a big ed "big daddy" Roth fan and building it sort of the way he would have! Will keep you posted, and you do the same

Really cool! I'm looking forward to seeing it. One thing I did not really factor in on my ride is front brakes. I have a rear drum on the quad axle which is fairly small so I may have to incorporate a disc brake setup in to the drivetrain and use that as the main brake to slow down sort of like on RC cars. The rear drum would be for the ebrake.

This weekend was a busy one. I started building the clutch which is made from parts of a jeep transfer case, some weld on hubs and sprockets. More on this later when I get closer to completing it but here is the progress so far. Its just too hard to explain exactly how it will work but I will stay that its close to how a real automotive clutch works.

I also finished my drive shaft that links the transmission to the ATV axle. I just have to make a leather boot to go between the opening on the swing arm to the angled bearing holding the drive shaft. The drive shaft components are made on a lathe using a combination of BMW and Yamaha Big Bear 400 parts.

I got a chance to finally mount the rear shock. After standing on the frame and bounding up and down I must say that the rear will have a very smooth suspension setup. Having an adjustable shock for both height and dampening will allow me to set it up for various terrains as well. I just have to make sure I make the front suspension perform equally as well.

I may have missed it from just waking up but what is the rear out of ?
So far its looking great.

The rear end is from a Jianshe JS400 quad. It is almost identical to the Yamaha Big Bear 400 which is why I used parts from one. They can be aquired fairly cheap as well which makes them a perfect candidate for this type of build.
