hey guys this all started with a frame and an engine I bought from a guy on craigslist and started rebuilding and parting from there. It is about 30% done because most of what I have on it is pretty much just to actually drive it for now. Its a go kart with a 200cc suzuki engine in it a blaster front end, and an atc swingarm. Anyway here it is hope you enjoy my rat kart.

rat kart front.jpg

This front end was temporary and I painted it because I was bored and had my mind on other problems I was facing with the kart. Sometimes when you walk away you save yourself the frustration. The actual body I am planning is going to extend from the roof/rollcage I am working on.

rat kart side.jpg

This is from the side but since these pictures I have new blaster rims on it and have welded the suspension and back together again. I had a problem routing the shifter through the carter go kart frame without it rubbing and wanting to bend so for now I used pvc pipe and believe it or not it shifts really smooth.

rat kart dash.jpg

Turn key ignition, light switches I have a horn and accessory hookup aswell but I just didn't need to install it to ride it since this body is just temp.

so yeah, tell me what you think. I hope this inspires more rat karts to be built.

I couldn't tell you how fast yet because ive been taking it easy where I test drive it because of the terrain. There isn't much to do besides the rest of the body work It's just a rat kart built from spare parts. The thing is a death trap right now but a lot of fun to drive so far. I have no engine problems at all the chain doesn't pop off anymore either. I was thinking about adding a brake pedal because right now there is only front brakes which is the brake lever in the middle of the seat. The left pedal is the clutch and the right pedal is the gas but there is more than enough room on the old carter go kart frame to put a brake pedal and a rod leading back and then come up with something from there. I already have the caliper and rotor installed just needs a little tlc in rat rod fashion.

Here is a link to one of the test drives. Sorry about the quality I wasn't expecting anyone to record it.

Edit: I cant seem to post the link here at all so if I can figure out what's wrong I'll put it back up.
