Take it back and get new one. Warranty? 20/50 oil didn't kill ur motor. I run 5w30 synthetic in everything I own

There's a morals issue here.

There is a wee difference between 5w30 and 20w50.

Well, I will try to do an oil change tomorrow and see if it will start. Hopefully I didn't ruin the engine. I can't figure how to do an oil change without unmounting the the engine and tilting it. There is two oil ports, but they both face at an upward angle. I don't see anything on the bottom, like a vehicle would have. Am I missing something or do I actually have to unmount the engine?

I believe you're looking at the fill plugs, not the drain plugs. Look lower, right on the mounting flange. Probably square or hex heads- metal- wrench required.

Yes ur missing the drain plug at both ends of the block, hex head bolts I think 10mm

It ran three seperate times, so I am crossing my fingers that it is fine. The oil might have finally started running through and the low oil sensor might not be letting it start, now that I think about it..... I didn't even check that cause I was so frustrated trying to start it the last time.

oh, thanks Cjhoward! I'll have to go look in the morning. I appreciate all the help everybody. You guys really think with only about 20 min of run time I would have ruined the engine already?

It is possible. I am worried about the heat comments. Excess heat is bad, and oil that is too thick can be a real problem.

If the low oil sensor is suspect, unplug it and try starting engine.

Lol yes I wasn't reccommending 20/50 but it's not like it's mud. It will still lubricate the motor. Short term like in this situation is not a problem. Long term may cause problems but the dipper will sling 20/50 through the motor. I think this motor has other manufacturing issues.

It's not a question of the slinger slinging. Oil galleries in bearing bores and journals are quite small. Like pulling molasses thru a syringe.

just take it back. The 3 year old who built that thing was probably cranky from not getting a nap that day or something.

Well, if it doesn't start workin once I change the oil, I will take it to harbor freight next weekend and swap it out. If they will let me. Thanks guys.
