Yeah, the turnbuckle tie rod is on its way out. It's just too sloppy.

And yes, you have to mind your foot placement on the pedal. There is a bit of tennis shoe sole melted to the header in one spot. Running wide open for extended periods of time is ill-advised though, unless you have extremely smooth ground. Those skinny solid tires aren't really meant for speed or bumps.
