hello everyone i have a modded 212 predator the top end screams on my motor but it lags on the torque , before i go buying sprockets and changing gear ratios i was wondering if anyone has tryed out the noram cheetah clutch. if so i was wondering if the noram clutch would be better then the torque converter or at least up to par with a torque converter. Basically what i would like to know is if a raceing clutch is really that much more powerful then the standard max torque type clutchs you can buy at TSC. id like to keep my chain drive because i have limited space on my cart but if the torque converter is the way to go then theres always a way to make a little more room.:cheers2:

Welcome to the forum. If you are not getting any torque, it probably means that you are geared too high. A Noram clutch is definately better than a max torque clutch, but you cannot compare it to a torque converter. A TC will beat a cent clutch any day. It has variable gear ratios, where a cent clutch is either engaged or not.

What kart do you have? What gearing do you have at the moment. These are things that we will need to know before we can help you further. A few pics will be good.

im thinking im gonna go with a TC just because id like to be able to go up hills, also my kart is pretty heavy its home made. im not sure how heavy it is i havent weighed it yet. i was looking at a tav 2 torque converter i think ill be able to make it fit.

I just switched mine from a Cent clutch to a TAV2. At the same time I went up 3 inches in tire diameter, and the difference is huge. I would guess my previous speed was about 15, I haven't done a speed test on the street yet, but I hit 20 in my driveway still pulling hard. One thing to think about is that you are going to have to move your engine to make the TAV fit.

I would have to agree with moving the engine. You might be able to install the TC at an angle to avoid the move, but you are going to have to play around with it to see.

I love your engine. How does that straight pipe sound

if i halft to move the motor its no biggy i have all the neccessary tools to do that. and the motor sounds like a harley with the dual header pipe, im going to make a dual exauhst setup for it once i have some money for RLV mufflers and a tubeing kit. the kart did 47 mph when i test drove it, but it just took a little longer then id like it to when getting up to top speed :bannana:
