Okay so my uncle and me raced our go karts but he won because my belt was already worn out. He knows i can beat him in a race but he doesnt want to admit it. We have the exact same engine and i raced him before i removed the governor. Well turns out someone gave him a bottle of nitro looks like one of those sal $50 ones maybe less. His engine is a 212cc predator engine and he wants to put nitro on it. I dont know what the **** he's gonna do but it scares me like wont that make his engine blow up if he goes at full throttle throughost of the race(drag race). I just want to know if anyone has ever experienced anyrhing like this before. Like im just scared for my uncle like what if his engine catches on fire.

The carb has to be prepared to run on Alcohol.
An alcohol carb will have bigger jets.

I don't think you can mix Nitro with gasoline.
You mix Nitro with methanol - with a carb jetted and prepared for Alcohol.

I DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH NITRO OR ALCOHOL. (for a fuel, LOL)

Have a buddy that uses it all the time on his 212cc engine. His engine is built up some with a cam and aftermarket carb and air intake filter but is not anything major. His system is a 6 Sigma system. They call it the Microburst Nitrous Oxide Injection Kit and my buddy said they sized it for him based off what he had done to his engine. I have rode his kart and you can feel the difference with or without the NOS system.

funny how $40 seem appropiate for a $5 co2 airpump and some plastic hose...

And yes, that is exactly nothing but a CO2 mini air pump

All I can say is that the cartridge does not say CO2 and different jets are available, he has had to increase jet once after an upgrade to his engine. Whatever it is it does give him a boost out of the hole and even on top end. He pushes button once right after hole shot and then pushes button again before finish line for a late boost (a big enough boost you can feel it pushing you back in the seat)

any fuel that has alcohol will corrode metal parts in the carb and shrink the float in the bowl (if not gas tank mounted)

If you run anything other than gas, you have to pickle the system after running.
NOS is a shot into the intake.
Nitro is a fuel mix.
Either will cause shortened life span to your motor if you don't know what you're doing.

These guys are right on point. There's a lot more to nitro than just dumping it in and firing it up. Timing needs adjusted, carb needs to be heavily modified or replaced with an alcohol carb, and if you're wanting to run anything over about 10% you'll need to upgrade to larger fuel hoses and a fuel pump. I have put over 25 gallons of nitro/alcohol through my minibike, and it's a beast. I can tell you for a fact, from experience, that 100% nitro is wild until the head gasket comes out of the side of the engine (which don't take long on 100%)

This thread has me researching nitroPROPANE.

I guess THAT mixes with gasoline.

Nitro is an oxygenating power additive designed to exact the maximum level of horsepower from stock and modified engines. Improves throttle response and acceleration. Contains 50% Nitro propane and 50% Koolinal as a blending and cooling agent.
Blends with gasoline and methanol alcohol.

Did he say "Kool Aid"???

Nitromethanol is awesome.

But I prefer the VP Racing fuels Q16 for my stuff. Makes as much power as alcohol and its a regular gas so no purging after every race. It's a oxygenated fuel and you have to ramp up the jets but mine was running awesome with it. And my compression wasn't that high either. It was maybe 9.0:1 if I guessed correctly. New compression will be alot more tho.

But be forewarned it's not cheap either.
