Been there before. Hopefully they'll figure something out, maybe give all the customers a discount on the next bill as a nice gesture...might be wishful thinking.

On a similar note, I thought I would let you guys know about a wonderful thing we have here in South Africa called Load Shedding. This is the brilliant idea

that the power company (there is only one here in SA and it is semi government owned) came up with because:
- They are useless
- Cannot and will not do preventative maintenance
- There is corruption on a scale that is unprecedented
So....because power stations are down for maintenance all the time, and because they say that coal stocks are critically low, they need to save electricity somehow. The brilliant

idea that they came up with is to cut power to different parts of the country and town suburbs at scheduled times during the day. This is supposed to take the strain off the grid.
What this means though is that every office building now has a humongous generator, and every household has bought a small one. A schedule is published for each suburb telling you when the power is going to go out. If they need to shed more power, they move onto a more aggressive schedule.
