I just bought a used manco pro fox 2 this past weekend that came with a comet series 30 TC. I just ordered a 16hp motor and just realized that the 30 can't handle the power so now i'm left buying a new one. I know I need a 40, but need to know if it will work the way I will have it mounted. Below are the pics of my existing setup. Do you think I will have any problem mounting the 40 in the same fashion?

Looks like I may be ok. Here is a picture of it mounted very similar to the way I would have to mount mine.

Can someone please confirm this as I don't want to waste over $300 if its not going to work right. Or if someone has a better suggestion, it would be greatly appreciated.

yes Blaz knowes what he is talking about.

Hey blaz the driver looks strange. the yellow outer clam shell part doesnt have the flat side in the hole .... and the inner part of the weights have some square splins to it. is that an older comet or one of those max torque ones.

I believe it's because it's a 1" bore model. That's how my splines and shell hole are as well.

That is correct, its a 1" bore. I'm guessing that I will have to cut off the existing jackshaft and fabricate a new one unless someone has any other ideas.

Just a thought, couldn't I just mount the driven pulley with the springs inward on the jackshaft? Basically just flipping it on the shaft. I can move the engine mounts easier than redoing the jackshaft because I think the cross bars would be in the way.

Ok, I've got the answers i needed. You can mount the series 40 outward as long as you replace the spring with a yellow one.

Thanks for all that replied.
