I'm new here but not new to working on cars, motorcycles and such but not so up on Karts. I recently came into a Go-Kart from a friend and it does run and I was told it's very fast I will post a description of it later as my problem is the brakes. It has a disc brake on the rear and from what I have found they are MCP brake system which is including the rotor, master cylinder and calipers. My question is this though and please forgive me if I posted in the wrong place but I inadvertently poured DOT 3 fluid into the master cylinder instead of DOT 5 and from what I have read on here after i did this is that people say use DOT 5 fluid on these brake systems. Did I ruin the seals and what not after doing this?Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Just flush it out with Dot 5 and you should be OK

I can not imagine that a rebuild kit for your brake would cost much. Why take a chance?

Did you not post "it's very fast"?

Clean all the innards with brake cleaner. Replace all the rubber. Go fast, live long.
