I just purchased a used Yerf Dog 3208 for $200 bucks and it needs some TLC. The engine idols up and down and does that when driving also. I ordered a replacement Carb for it for 30 bucks and going to try that but if that doesn't fix it i may look into purchasing the Predator 212cc for it but not sure what it would take to get my TC working with it. I believe i have a 30 series Comet TC. Any help would be appreciated.

There is absolutely no need to run off and buy a new engine and CVT. FWIW, you likely didn't even need the new carb. But, since it's on it's way, swap it in and tell us if the problem continues.

probably not much... your 30 series probably has a 3/4" bore and the predator has a 3/4" inch shaft.
It might need a cleaning as well. Does it work fine currently?

I just bought it sunday and didn't have a belt i have a belt on order but i do think the TC needs a good cleaning the driver part is very rough, the brass part in the middle is stuck and won't move, and the side that expands doesn't seem to move all that well. I am not sure if i can clean it good enough or if i should just order a new driver part. The bore is the same but the shaft length is different on the two engines i believe. So i would assume i would just need to get a different size space behind the tc than what is currently used. I am currently trying to get the brake drum and band off to be replaced as it is very rusted and completely shot. Having trouble getting the drum off though.

The idea of DIY isn't to replace a part that isn't working 100%, it's about figuring out why it isn't & fixing the problem. Anyone can replace parts, not everyone can fix them

If there isn't a belt on the clutch you should not be running the engine.(or at least not engaging the clutch. It will damage it.)
