We need some pictures to tell you exactly what it is. If its wires coming out of the block then it's probably for the low oil cut off. If it's from the starter then it's probably for charging the battery.

Thanks

I just looked at one of those at HF the other day. If it is connected to a little black box with a yellow wire, it is the low oil cut off sensor.

Yea that wire coming from the hex plug area is the low oil sensor. They work well on utility stuff but on a kart sometimes hard turns and bouncing makes the motor shut off. The guys that race the clone motors cut the wires off so that can't happen.

Its a trade off... either check the oil frequently and cut the wires or leave them and have a possible stalling issue.

I just disconnect mines because my motor would stall when i go off-road.. But now i dont have that problem anymore. I would recommend to disconnect it and just check the oil frequently.
