I used to have two quantums. Pieces of ****. The first one was an older one.. the flywheel cracked and had lots of governor problems. The second one was newer. It just mysteriously stopped working one day. I would only run with spraying directly into carb.. never did figure that one out. Cleaned out crab and everything.

Anyways, maybe you can disconnect the governor and make sure own linkage.

Haha, so they're Quantums! :D Always wondered what they were :)

I had a old Quantum with the governor disconnected (by accident :D) hasn't blown up yet. Nor throw a rod.

I have a quantum on the floor now that I was going to rebuild. What a POS! It has a friction drive pulley that is STUCK on the shaft and it WON'T budge for ANYTHING! Well I guess I now have an electronic coil for that other 5hp I'm building.

I went to a power equipment rental place today to see if I could find an adjustable replacement carb. The guy at the place said he didn't have any working old one's. :(

Well, I went home and decided to try to clean it up a bit more and see if I could get it running. Well, apparently whatever it was that was causing the problem went away and now it seems to be running just fine! I ran it for several minutes and had no problems at all. The only time it starts doing that surging thing is when the "throttle" is set to fast and it opens up all the way, only now it's not as unsteady. Once it's working, it stabilizes and runs just like it should. :wai:
