another project :roflol:

well its actually my friends project, but we work on it at my house because i have all the tools and parts.

so the engine came from homemadegokarts1221. we call it the pepsi throwback engine (dont ask why)

this is the bike after i modded the frame. took a piece of a sump pump tube and welded it in there :wai:

the engine, and my custom pipe.

planning on gearing it just like my warrior but a tad higher because the wheel is bigger...

mock up with the engine leaning against the frame...

other side

the tank has the bolt broken off flush with the flange on it... :censored: so i wont be putting that on. it wont fit anyways. so i will be using this tecumseh lawn mower tank side mounted on the frame above the engine.

were going to make a jackshaft with pillow blocks of course, because the engine placement, and the rear sprocket thats intergrated with the rim is TINY!

ill keep you guys updated. should be a quick little project.

hahahaha... im thinking of doing a belt tensioner on the mini bike. for right now, on my own budget, im saving for a torque converter to put in my baja warrior. i have about 150 and i need about 220 total with shipping.... im getting there.

 You'll make it. :toetap05: Didn't you say you were mowing lawns to support your bike/ kart/ demented lawn tractor addiction? Maybe you need to get together with Toystory on his mower/buggy. If you could speed up the process, you could pick up a few extra customers, be done in the same time AND have the money for parts!!:arf: It's an idea; what do you think??:D

haha i have to do rings and valves on my neighbors 6.75 briggs i use... piece of junk. ill probably check that out next week. the engine kept overheating because grass got stuck in the cooling fins.

and i have to do rings and valves on my friends xr100. because the craigslist guy ripped him off in a trade. (told him engine was perfect) but then we drained the oil, and umm..... yuck. milkshake times 10.

lets see.

i should have $50 more by the end of this week. start on the xr100 next weekend.

im going to look up exactly how much this TC costs! of only i didnt buy some model rocket engines i would have an extra $20. but they were fun. never seeing it again though. probably hit someones house lol.

Blue, how many projects do you have??:eek:

tractor- returning to stock so we can mud it :arf:

schwinn chopper

home made mini bike- waiting for money and boredom

mini chopper- rebuilding engine

baja warrior- work in progress, upgrading parts but it runs good

go kart- needs to be redesigned.... it worked and it was fast, but stopping, steering, and comfortability (is that a word) has to be improved.

so basically 6 that are somewhat active projects... and a few project engines.

total shipped price of a genuine comet 30 series, 3/4 bore, 10 tooth #40/41, is $186.98

Hey Blue, you mentioned that you have a few engines. Do you by any chance have a 49cc pocketbike engine?? Or just the carb? I tried cleaning mine on my Cag and it still wont run. It runs on starting fluid though so i know the engine is good. So im thinking its either the carb, or the way i mix the gas

i have a 43cc cateye pocket bike engine. all my 2 strokes have pumper carbs. the cag's have the float style carbs.

did you use carb cleaner?

check:

compression- if it blows your finger off the spark plug hole, usually means good!
spark- check spark gap and plug gap. check plug for fouling. (clean it...) check spark by grounding the threaded part of the plug to the engine block and pulling it over.

also might want to check the reeds for not sealing.... (or if they are in tact at all)

EDIT: haha oops read your post over. it runs off starter fluid. okay. so it must be a fuel delivery problem or an air leak.

check all the intake gaskets for tares/leaks.

the guys at www.pocketbikeplanet.com are really good at identifying problems on these bikes.
