Hi I am from Michigan and am planning on purchasing my 8 year old her first Kart, I have my eye on a Manco Fox Conquest with a 5 hp subaru on it...I am wondering if this will be too large for her? She has never ridden one before but has been around dirtbikes and rzr’s...can anyone offer up some insight as to if it will be to large or if she would be good to go. She is tall for her age if that helps, as tall as most 10 year olds. Thanks everyone hopefully I can pick it up!

I am trying to figure out how to introduce my grandkids, one 8, two 6, to the recently rehabbed Ken Bar. Best idea so far it to put a stop bolt of some type under the gas pedal or adjust the throttle cable to limit the amount of power avail. This one has small, 10 in dia wheels and 5 to 1 sprockets, and will haul it with me on board.

If it has a centrifugal clutch, limiting the speed by limiting the throttle position will destroy the clutch by not allowing it to fully engage. the best way to limit speed with a centrifugal clutch is by gearing.

Throw a cheap China torque converter on it, and you can limit the throttle all you want.
