Hello, some guy in my city is selling a pretty cheap scooter and I've been thinking on buying' it as a parts source for a new kart project [begginer here].

What do you think, is it worth to take apart and canibalizing an operative vehicle just for my fun project? The bike is functional, good shape and the price is loooow.

Thanks in advance.

Here's a stupid thought. go get that things registration up to date then build a street legal mini chopper . check the local laws you'll probably have to use the Vin numbered part in that new build, it has all the key pieces. Engine, drivetrain, elect system, hydraulic brakes,

That's exactly what I was thinking: Engine, drivetrain, elect system, hydraulic brakes... maybe a couple other parts and then sell the rest of the pieces. My main goal is to build a kart but the mini-chopper could be a fun project for another vacations.
Today I found another one for about $120 dlls.

1. Cheap
2. Engine and wheels
3. Local

Those are the requirements for something to end up at my house.

The gy6 style motor is a pretty good engine and reasonably easy to work on and t.c. trans is included... winning (sorta)
