old English twin,
I thought about that (or sumpthin similar) but the "old" and"English " got me. Parts availability....
Another thing, electric start, did any old English twins have electric start? It would be a PITA to get out and kick start it...
The idea certainly have some merit, no computer is a big one.

But the sorting out mystery is starting to sound like a horror movie. Hack, I know that you'll eventually get it
I'll emerge victorious, just might be a while. I wanted a challenge, be careful what ya wish for.

Is the puter relearning
I hope not, nothing much to learn.

No but the moron with the wrench is!
Take hose "A" indicated by the yellow arrow and insert (by whatever means necessary) into the end of hose 'B". Indicated by pink arrow.
System operates at idle just fine....
Gotta go tell the slaves to make an air box.....

Here is a product you youngns probably never heard of. This is old school stuff and it works, like old school stuff does, but unike other stuff that works, the feds have not banned it.
i had an oppertunity to buy another bottle. There was this radiator hose thar kept coming apart when it got hot and pressurized. I putthis shyt onit and end of problem.
Forget RTV this is mo bedder.
useless fact:
Ya know what RTV means?lts not some secret silicone formula. it means room temperature vulcanizing. Thats it, same as all other silicone.
it even seals those pesky leaky fuel connections.
its stillas good as it was 50 years ago.

Hey T,

Ya ever use some stuff called Indian Head gasket makin' compound? (probably just a brand name)

That stuff sealed like a Mo-Fo
...but, was um...kinda permanent
&
The "poor sucker" (me) that had to "deal with it"...at a "later date"
...hated it
...as after a couple of years it basically petrified
...& removing the residue...was kinda like scraping off concrete :furious2:

How ya doin' on gettin' your engine ta runnin' smooth-ly-er?

The slaves have been busy working on the air box/filter.
This has turned into a bigger project than expected. The prolem is, there be a lot going on in there. For that reason l tried to copy the original design. There is/was a large chamber behind the filter with 3 hoses and the temp sensor innit.
There are 4 individual throttle bodies, so the box has 8 holes innit.
It will be clear as mud in a few days, til then heres some pics.
As most of ya know the MO here is make it don't buy it. This is about the making. Sadly that means there will not be any shiny new CNC machined parts

The MTL scrap pile came to the rescue again.
So why not look like there 750 Holley under there?

the box has been sealed up with silicone. The slaves will rivet every together when all that stuff dries. That stuff gets everywhere.

these are the 1/2 inch nipples that the vent lines connect to.w

another item is the TB's sit @ 22.5 degreees from horizontal. So l had to make some risers otherwise the air filter would look stupid.
After shopping the scrap heap the best material for 22 degree spacers is PVC pipe.
1.5 inch pipe has a OD of 1,9 inch i need 1.75. and 22 degree bends. Heat softens PVC so the $10 oven thingy saved the day again.
to keep them round l put steel plugs in the ends. Heat and bend.

Stay tuned for the next exciting episose when we assemble this mess.
And we will share the secrets of making PVC exhaust.
