All of us here at the Mt. Top labs have recovered from the shock of hearing that thing run and have returned to work. The plumber was called to design the cooling system.
The engineering dept. had to study this snake pit of hoses.
There are 4 water oulets and one inlet on this engine. Coincidenetly the OEM radiator also had 5 in/outlets. However the cheap fuc... errr ahhh l mean purchasing dept. found one with 2. This calls for some serious hackology.
The scrap heap comes to our salvation again, in the form of nice aluminum tubing.
Why not substitute that for hose? Done.

A U-turn was the first challenge:
top: water pump
mid: aluminum tubing (manifold sounds much mo technical)
bottom: fuel pump

The problem with a hybrid (hose/tubing) is amillion commections. The left coast is in the middle of a serious hose clamp shortage now.
The alum tubing was old and oxidized, so we put in the lathe and skinned it, so now its purdy and shiny.
Stay tuned for mo pics, there more to come. 5 hoses into 2 in/outlets.

No, but Its not as bad as it sounds. One is the inlet (water pump), one is return (to rad)
one is return from oil cooler. that one is only 5/8. Two are only 1/4. One is an air relief from the water pump to the radiator inlet and the other is a gizmo on the throttle bodies. water comes from the head to the gizmo to the rad inlet.
The gizmo has acouple of scary adjustment screws.

That is a special tape measure, its calibrated in degrees C. Only available at a metric lab supply shop.
The stat is supposed to open @ 71 mm but it opens @ 78 mm.thats a difference of 17 inches.
