Hi Everyone,
I picked up a project kart the other day, thinking it would be great fun for the kids. It needed some work, and I knew that going in, but it's starting to turn into more then I had anticipated.

Anyway, one of the issues is that the steering is incredibly hard, specifically turning to the driver side (left). Going right is almost too easy, the kart wants to make that turn, but it takes a lot of strength to fight the wheel to the left - so much so that my kids aren't going to be able to do it.

Here is a link to some photos of the steering setup if that helps. It may be hard to tell from the photo, but the front wheels have huge positive camber. And yes, I need new tires!

Anyway, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm totally new to karts and have no idea what I should look for here.

I agree with Denny, that is way too much camber. And use some 2 or 3 foot long 2x4s to set the toe. The measurement in front of the tires should be slightly less than the measurement behind them. That should help.

And I like your idea for a FWD kart. :lolgoku:
