Preditor 212 stage 1 kit

Hey y'all...doing my first preditor engine swap on my monster moto 80 bike ( or any bike for that matter). Got the stage 1 kit for it....question is should it be ok to install it before a break in period or not?

I installed mine before the engine even ran for the first time. So far (one year later and countless full throttle fun havings) it still starts on first pull. IMO it will be just fine, but I am sure the internet has many more opinions

To add I would run it as is at least once to make sure it works correctly before customizing it with performance kits or governor removals.

My brake in procedure was pretty simple... turn on the engine and have fun. First oil (conventional oil) I changed after an hour of ride time just to get rid of any tiny metal particles, then put in Full Synthetic (Mobile 1 10W-30 in my case) and then changed it every 30 hours or so. Other than the oil changes I have not done any special break in procedure I just put the engine on, installed the stage 1 kit and basically started to have fun with it. Wide open throttle most of the time with the governor removed so I have floated the valves quite a lot and she little engine that could still can.

I read people have this special break in procedure for these but for me it was turn in on and use it as intended.

So far I estimate about 150-200 hours on the engine give or take.

Are you getting a special engine mount that tilts the engine? Not sure that the air filter adapter and air filter will fit in the frame if using the stock engine mount plate. The stock air box barely fits (Doesn't really fit), and the performance filter will stick out even further. Not 100% positive, but just from the look of other people's builds the filter might not fit.

Didn't know they made a special tilt mount...but turns out your right the air filter adaptor with the stage 1 kit hits the frame and doesn't allow the engine to sit square in the frame. My plan was to just raise the whole engine up with some 3/4 or 1" square tubing but if they make a special tilt mount I could order might go that route. Do you know where I could buy one?

Wow that's a little pricey...thank will just use some square tubing and raise the whole thing about 1" should work fine...besides already got the stage 1 kit from OMB warehouse and a manco clutch cover for just a little over a hundred...hopefully throttle won't be to much of a problem

I went ahead and ordered the tilt mount separately...$69 + shipping...more than I wanted to spend but oh well should make life easier...hope running engine at a angle all the time doesn't affect it...

Not at all a problem...
However I cant seem to see why you couldnt have made something for much less yourself even painted...$70+ is alot for what that is....

Yes I probly could have...but the angle is what makes for a better fit rather than raising strait up. And at this point I just want to get it done without investing more time...If wife knew how much $ I had invested in this thing so far...well. Funny cause when I first bought it from Kmart on sale for half price I thought...ohh what a good price I gotta get that...lol

The motors coleman is using on there ct200u have low profile caps that fit the predator tank. Can order parts direct from them or a few different sources as well.
