This is going to be great when this works time and time again and this thread gets stickied hahahaha. I'd say Kart Art is about to gain several views and subscribers.

Well if it blows up spectacularly I'm sure that will get me some views too. Not that I ever plan to be a professional youtuber but everyone likes to see their videos get lots of views.

I'm really crossing my fingers that by this weekend the snow and sogginess left behind are gone. I got in my clutch for the drift trike so that will be ready for it's maiden voyage along with some race kart yard riding this weekend. Cant wait!

I'm pretty sure me and Bob have a bet. He thinks it'll live but wants it to blow up is the way I took that.
If I win you can have the $20 for your trouble. When I read the first post about that gov adjustmet I said out loud to myself "that's freaking genius" except I didn't say freaking.

LOL awesome. No worries on the 20. I hope you guys are betting and that you win that 20. I just need to get my lies together for the wife. Somehow explaining I want to buy an engine to try and possibly blow it up doesn't sit well with her HAHAHAHA

All jokes aside, I really like the fact that you're doing this with a brand new unopened engine. That's what most folks would do, and I'm sure we both know the advantages one could gain with a little blue printing.

Yeah I think brand new is the only way to go.
I'll break it in for about an hour of varying throttle, modify the governor setup, verify rpm, let her eat.

Interested in your break in procedure. My philosophy is break her like you don't know her. You can develop a relationship later.

Mine too.
I like to run them kind of hard with varying throttle. The only real important parts of break in to me are these:
Non synthetic oil
Lots of varying throttle
Lots of hard acceleration to achieve hard deceleration (This creates vacuum which pulls rings to the cylinder walls causing a better mating of the surfaces)
Frequent oil changes

That's how I've broken in every engine I've ever had my hands on. From 212 predators to my Yamaha fz07 bike to a 347 stroker small block ford. Never been disappointed in that method.

It's not constantly at that RPM no. But neither is any yard kart I've ever seen that's reasonably ridden ( Unless your just going flat out on a straight road for miles and miles, that seems like a bore anyways )

Either way in a short while were going to see what continously running 4800 rpm does to a new predator hemi with governor in tact for around........ idk 25 hours or until it blows up I guess haha

I'm getting anxious on this whole thing. If only we could do a stage two modded Predator next or see how a real GX200 would last in comparison.

Kartorbust you trying to talk me into doing this on my NR Racing stage 2 motor? LOL
As far as the governor gear is concerned I don't think any of those mods would make any difference as long as the rpm stayed around 4800 rpm. Of course the stage 2 kit does come with valve springs. At 6700 rpm I don't think the conrod would last very long at all.

Maybe just a little bit lol. To me, I guess it's like waiting on results of what gender your baby would be or at least how I feel it would be like. So I'm just waiting patiently for the test.

Guys I haven't forgotten about this just been pre-occupied by the snow here the last few days.
I plan on buying an engine next weekend and then getting everything setup in the shop for the torture test.
In the mean time I've got the parts I need to somewhat finish my yard drift trike so that will be my focus the next few days.
