Guys I've got two questions. I have a predator 420 on a cart that has to be choked everytime you crank it no matter if it's already warm. Anyone know why this is? And on my sons minibike we have a 212. When he let's off the throttle, quite often it'll die. Just need some help here. Thanks

Adjust the idle higher on the 212... But what mods you done to that? ...

Why Is putting the choke on for startup a problem...
Alot of motors are like this...

The 420...Does it run fine with it open or do you have to set it to half-cock, for it to at all?..

Personally it feels wrong to me to choke a warm engine and I have yet to own one I wasn't able to adjust and clean the carb to make right. As to the 212 dying, assuming you checked you idle screw as stated above it could also be in the idle circuit of your carb.

Sounds like your predators are taking a early retirement
You better see if they have a good pension plan.

No mods to the 212 other than a torque converter. I'm going to increase the idle a bit to just under it grabbing.
As far as choking the 420 for startup..I mean every single time. Even once it's warm. But once it's running I don't have to leave it half way, it runs great.

I have to choke my predator 212 every time I restart it too. Don't know why, just choke, start, take off the choke as soon as the engine gets going, and off I go.

My 301 is the same. Cold start with choke on and it's one pull. Hot starts are 2 or 3 pulls with out the choke. Hit the choke and is a one pull. It's stock as of now.

On my ride, even after years of sitting the one time... Choke pull, start, set to half cock.
Still seems like a normal condition...

i got a mini bike like that, its been sitting in my garage for about almost a year without riding it and i know i didnt put treated gas in it the last time i rode it. once it reaches idle rpms it dies. I know for a fact that i had idle speed adjusted perfectly last year.

I also know for a fact that the carb is dirty :wai::roflol:
