Went out on a lim and bought a predator 8hp 301cc on ebay for $70 not sure if it's to good to be true or not but what the he'll it's only $70 I'm new to this forum and besides the 212 I have 0 experience with a 8hp what kind of power gains can I expect is it significant increase? What clutch would you recommend for a belt to a torque converter to chain drive setup? Should I change the torque converter for this application from a 212cc to a 301cc?

30 series torque converter, check shaft size, but the bolt on 30 series with 1" driver should be perfect if your engine has 1" shaft, but you dont need the back plate, measure center to center and you may need to get a different belt (google comet belt chart for details). Basically you take off the existing pulley and you repalce it with the driven for the 30 series.

You can use the backing plate but you have to do something about the rear dipstick. It gets in the way. I had to grind it down and seal it with JB weld. I did this before I put any oil in it. Worked out fine and is still working fine.

So this driven pulley must be changed if I upgrade to a 30 series 1 inch bore torque converter

Some people are hypersensitive to improperly oriented photos. My brain has a built-in adjustment feature.

There was a discussion here recently on smartphones and photos. It seems they all forums remove EXIF data, for various reasons. On my Samsung phone, if I make sure the phone is in landscape position with the button to the right, photos turn out properly. In other word if I start out in portrait position and give the phone a quarter turn counterclockwise, I'm good.

Cool kart. Not sure about your driven clutch. I mean you have to use 30 series with 30 series.

Did you get the engine yet? That ebay seller looks to have several 8hp for around that price. Free shipping. But he has no sells on his name yet. Meaning new ebayer. If you get yours i may buy one. Almost worth the chance to try and see what happens.

I'll keep everyone posted for sure I ordered it yesterday should be here by next week sometime I'm excited it's a good chance to buy and flip them locally easy or better yet buy old carts load them with 8hp motors and flip it

I need a blast sheild for the front of the cart and it will have a mount for my 240b

It's going to sit forward the steering wheel the added weight will help with handling aswell
